El actor arriba al país proveniente del Festival de Cine de Cartagena
Será hoy cuando llegue a Venezuela Benicio del Toro, proveniente de Colombia, donde participó en el estreno de Che, de Steven Soderbergh, en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena.
El boricua, ganador del Oscar por actor secundario en Traffic (2000) y 21 Gramos (2003), se reunirá con el presidente Hugo Chávez, asistirá a funciones privadas de la película sobre el Che Guevara, y a una proyección pública en el Nuevo Circo de Caracas, según lo anunció el alcalde de Libertador, Jorge Rodríguez.
Extraoficialmente se ha hablado de que el artista visitará la parroquia 23 de Enero y sostendrá un encuentro con los medios.
En Colombia, el actor se refirió a la Bolivia actual. "La nueva Bolivia de Evo (Morales) creo que es uno de los sueños del Che. Hubiera sido imposible imaginarlo en aquella época, que un boliviano indígena fuera elegido por el pueblo y reconocido como Presidente", señaló del Toro, protagonista de Che: el argentino y Che: guerrilla, las dos partes del film producido por el actor.
Añadió que comparte con el personaje de su película algunas ideas como "la de educación para todo el mundo, la posibilidad de salud de alimentos para los que nacen sin ella".

Today Benicio del Toro arrives in Venezuela, coming from Colombia, where he premiered Steven Soderbergh's Che, at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena.
The Puerto Rican, who won the Oscar for best supporting actor in Traffic (2000) and 21 Grams (2003), will meet with President Hugo Chávez, attend private functions concerning the film about Che Guevara, as well as a public screening at the Nuevo Circo de Caracas, as announced by the Mayor of Libertador, Jorge Rodríguez.
Unofficially, there has been talk that the artist will also visit Parroquia 23 de Enero [a historically leftist and revolutionary part of Caracas] and will hold a press conference.
In Colombia, the actor referred to today's Bolivia. "The new Bolivia of Evo (Morales), I think is one of the dreams of Che. It would have been impossible to even imagine at the time, a Native American Bolivian who was elected by the people and recognized as President," said del Toro, the protagonist of Che: The Argentine and Che: Guerrilla, the film in two parts, which was produced by the actor.
He shares with the character of his film some ideas such as "education for everyone, the possibility of health-care and food for those who were born without it."
