I was just wondering, is anyone here planning on going to the London Premieres of the Che films or The Wolfman??? I've never been to one before, but there
is NO WAY i'm gunna miss a chance to meet Beno! I intend to get there DAYS in advance and try and track him down haha
Charchie, i think it will be 2008, let´s hope he´ll be there for the London Film Festival in October, and nexst year he´ll sure be presenting The Wolfman
there.

Here's Charchie's Beno Encounter (London Film Festival, October 24, 2008):
I'M HERE!!! I'm finally back from London, and I'm STILL in a daze! Did it really happen? Did I really see our man in the flesh? Did I really talk
to him? Did I really see him trip over a pavement? YES YES YES! hahaha Friday the 24th was the single greatest day ever!
Ready??? OK, here I go...(HOB, you're more than welcome to copy this to the encounters forum too if you like :-) )
So myself and my Mum arrived in London at about quarter to 2, after a 5 and a half hour train journey. We wondered round the city for a while, got some lunch
then headed to the BFI building at about half past 6.
We were determined to find out exactly where he would be when he arrived so we had the best chance of meeting him- we asked everyone and anyone: security
guards, taxi drivers, receptionists etc and eventually found the artists entrance. They had already set a barrier up and there was about 10 crazy autograph
hunters waiting. (side note: these were horrible, rude, racist, vile people who didn't care one bit about Beni; all they cared about was making money off
his signature. But don't get me started on them, I'll never stop ranting! haha) We waited there for about an hour, before we finally saw his car
arriving and he finally appeared.
Let me say this now ladies- there is not one single photo out there that does this man justice. I swear to you now, he looks absolutely PERFECT in the
flesh, and I mean perfect. He was just....wow.
So, being the kind and amazing guy we all know he is, Beni headed straight over to the first autograph hunter to start signing...but between him and the
first person in line was a little curb that he just didn't see. As he was walking over, hands in pockets, he tripped over said curb and did the funniest,
cutest little bumble to try and steady himself. I swear, it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen. It made me realise that he may be the coolest person
in the world, but he's also human, and a little clumsy, and a little dorky. It just made me love him even more!
So, after the funny little bumble over the curb, he started to sign the first few photos thrust at him. He seemed completely happy doing this, but then his
PA came over and started pulling at his arm to leave. Now, I now a few of you have expressed your annoyance at the way this woman always seems to be pulling
at him like a pet, and its even worse to witness in real life. There was only about 20 people waiting, and it would havetaken him no more than 5 minutes to
sign everything, but she decided that he couldnt do that. She came across as very rude, and pushed away anything that was put near him and pulled at his arm
to move him along. As I was about 7 people down the line, this meant I didn't get anything signged, or the hug I desperately wanted. Iwas honestly so
disappointed I nearly cried :-( Beni was extremely apologetic to everyone and promised to be back later though.
So I didn't get to speak to him outside, but it was time to head into the talk then anyway, so all was not lost! In the room we were 7 rows back and
right inthe middle, so we had an amazing view of the stage the whole way through. He sat on the stage with the interviewer in a very very similar set-up to
"Inside the actors studio".
The woman doing the interview was AWFUL though, I mean really bad, and you could tell that Beni was thinking this too- but so was everyone else in the room
and it made it really funny to watch. She would ask him a really bad question (badly researched, badly worded, badly repetitive) and Beno would try his best
to answer but get really flustered and laugh, and it made everyone else laugh too. He was also SO nervous, and kept apologising for it all the way through,
and apologising for talking too much! He was so so sweet! He's also so naturally funny (he had the audience laughing too many times to count), and really
self deprecating (sonething that the more serious interviews he often gives just doesn't get across), and extremely humble. Honestly, just an all round
amazing guy really!
The interview lasted about an hour, and we were also treated to a clip of Che too (which looks absolutley fantastic!) then it was onto audience questions. I
realised that this may be my only chance to speak to him so I put my hand straight up and thankfully got chosen by the interviewer. And this is how it went
(to the best of my memory), the single greatest moment ever haha:
Me: If you could go back in time and play any character in any film already made, which would you choose? And would you play it any differently to how it was
originally done?
Beni: Well, I already have, with The Wolf Man...
Me: (interrupting) Apart from that...
Beni: *fake shocked face* oh well...
Me: That's cheating!
Beni: Oh, it's cheating! *smiles* Well, I would say..there aredefinitely some roles I would never dare touch. (sarcastically) Maybe Citizen Kane, I'd
go back and do that again! Oh, I don't know. I know it might be "cheating"but I always wanted to do the Wolfman; maybe something else old.
Like the Creature from the Black Lagoon. But then I'd have to shave all my hair off [he'd made a few comments earlier about how we was all about the
hair, and was a "hair actor"], all my body so I could make a quick escape!
Yep- best moment ever, I actually got to speak to him! And he was just so so so nice, and funny, and...again, wow. wow wow wow.
I could go into so much more detail about all that was said during the talk if anyone wants, but I feel I've spoken enough already! Infact, I'm sorry
for rambling on so much! haha
I can die happy now. Because he smiled at me. And he has a smile that can light up a room. :-)
PS. can you believe I typed all that with a broken space bar?! it took me about an hour! haha
"I could go into so much more detail about all that was said during the talk if anyone wants, but I feel I've spoken enough already! In fact,

Hey, Charchie, you know you can never go into too much detail for those of us on this board!! Ramble on, ramble on.....
great! that little chat is more worth it than any signiture...hope I have the chance to meet him some day also..but dreaming about it is also nice haha
