That fantastic, intense close-up shot where he is looking over his good old sunglasses and directely at you, was taken in Japan, when he was there to promote 21 Grams late in April 2004. I just don't know the name of the photographer we have to say thanks to and give credits for that beauty. And oh, then along comes that Paris Match stunner of an intense face close-up, framed by a waterfall of silver hair, taken by Benicio's friend Jean-Marie Perrier and then Karl Lagerfelds amazing and so cool b&w cigarette-lighting shot and then... I tell you, I could go on and write paragraphs about such photos. You know me, when I myself post photos of him, it never really is without any further ado. They are just too inspiring for me to not let the words flow...

This is one here is such a totally funny, happy and lovely photo -- and that incredible, wonderful smile of his -- you just gotta love him...



It was taken at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards (February 2001) by photographer Tom Cruze (Starstruck Photography). The Zone has two more, different shots of that shoot, the two that were once published in the Chicago Sun Times.


And talking about the Zone, they have this beautiful wallpaper here -- which includes a simply fabulous and exclusive photo of Benicio, where the original of is just nowhere to be found -- neither anywhere on the Zone, nor anywhere else online (And I've also never seen a similar photo, taken at the same occassion.). One thing I'm sure of though, this photo was taken in summer 1997. What a picture of a man -- that face and that look on it, the two-coloured, thick mane and facial hair, his leather jacket...





And just btw, did I already ever mention that I find his hands awesome...
